Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ Spends 19th Week on Billboard World Albums Chart

Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos

Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ album has spent a record-extending 19th week on the Billboard World Albums Chart.

The album, released in October last year, retained its place on the thirteenth spot for a second week, making it the longest charting African album this decade. It is also currently the only album by an African artist on the chart.

‘Made in Lagos’ peaked at No.2 back in November last year and has hovered around the top 20 since.

A month after its release, Starboy’s fourth album became the longest charting album by an African act on the continent on the Top 20 of Worldwide Apple Music and tied Burna Boy’s ‘Twice As Tall’ as the Nigerian albums with the most weeks spent on the UK Album Charts this decade.

Both artists won awards at the 2021 Grammys, with Wizkid sharing a gong for Best Music Video with Beyonce, and Burna Boy taking home the award for Best Global Music Album.
