  A former Senator who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial district in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has called on Nigerians and the government to listen to the agitations from the progenitors of Biafra, Oduduwa Republic, and other secessionist groups from different parts of the country and address their grievances. Sani , who took to his Twitter handle on Wednesday to give this admonition, said though he was against the activities of the groups springing up from different parts of Nigeria, as their conducts were infantile misadventures, he feels there is a need for the government to pay attention to their agitations. An up-and-coming comedian, Graciox Talker, has cried out that an operative of the defunct Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad threatened to kill him. Talker alleged this in a video posted on his Twitter handle Graciox_Talker @GracioxT on Wednesday. He also said the operative gave him seven days to pray as he was hell-bent on killing him when he called him on a WhatsApp video call.   U.S. Embassy Abuja The embassy in a   tweet   said: The U.S. Embassy in Nigeria on Thursday warned Nigerians not to fall victims of a fake U.S. work visas said to be for people  aged 40 to 55. “Scammers and fraudsters are circulating a fake “press release” claiming to offer a new type of work visa to Nigerian citizens aged 40-55. “It’s the same old scam, but in fresh packaging – don’t become a victim!” The embassy in another tweet urged Nigerians who need information on the genuineness of visas to contact official U.S. sources: “If you have questions about whether visa information is legitimate, please refer only to official sources:  https://travel.state.gov ,  https://ng.usembassy.gov/visas , and  https://ustraveldocs.com/ng . The fake press release claimed to be from the US Citizenship and Immigration Services. 28-year-old sentenced for trafficking 30 Nigerian women to Libya

Federal High Court iKano   A Federal High Court in Kano, has sentenced a 28-year-old man, Abubakar Suleiman, to two years imprisonment for trafficking 30 women to Libya. The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP), charged Suleiman, who resides in Kadawa Miltara Quarters of Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano, with one count of trafficking in persons. Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Mr Abdullahi Babale narrated to the court that the convict on Feb.10, conspired with one Salele (a Nigerien) now at large, and transferred 30 women from Edo and Lagos State to Niger Republic through Babura border in Jigawa, enroute Libya, NAN reports. He said that the convict deducted N5,000 from each of the women from the N50,000 paid per person from the sponsors in Libya and Niger Republic as commission. According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened the provisions of Section 13(2)(c) of the Trafficking in Persons(Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act 2015

 Justice Maureen Onyetenu granted the extension while delivering a ruling in a fundamental right suit filed by legal practitioner, Monday Ubani, against the Nigerian government, the Attorney General of the Federation, Nigerian Communications Commission and the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy. A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the extension of the deadline for National Identity Number registration by two months effective from Tuesday, March 23. Justice Maureen Onyetenu granted the extension while delivering a ruling in a fundamental right suit filed by legal practitioner, Monday Ubani, against the Nigerian government, the Attorney General of the Federation, Nigerian Communications Commission and the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy. According to a statement, editors of the magazine made the selections after consultations with corporate financial executives, bankers, banking consultants and analysts worldwide. Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ album has spent a record-extending 19th week on the Billboard World Albums Chart. The album, released in October last year, retained its place on the thirteenth spot for a second week, making it the longest charting African album this decade. It is also currently the only album by an African artist on the chart. ‘Made in Lagos’ peaked at No.2 back in November last year and has hovered around the top 20 since. A month after its release, Starboy’s fourth album became the longest charting album by an African act on the continent on the Top 20 of Worldwide Apple Music and tied Burna Boy’s ‘Twice As Tall’ as the Nigerian albums with the most weeks spent on the UK Album Charts this decade. Both artists won awards at the 2021 Grammys, with Wizkid sharing a gong for Best Music Video with Beyonce, and Burna Boy taking home the award for Best Global Music Album.

The former Governor has been away from Twitter for one year and 10 months. The last time Ambode tweeted was May 28, 2019, when he handed over to the current Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. That day, the former governor  tweeted : “To the Glory of God, I have just handed over the reins of government in Lagos State to His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu, after a rewarding 4-year experience.” But on Tuesday, March 23,  Ambode  broke almost two years absence and tweeted.     Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo state, says a few people can’t declare the establishment of “Yoruba nation”, without considering the general interest of the south-west region. Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo state Sunday Adeyemo, a youth leader better known as Sunday Igboho, had declared Yoruba as a separate nation and demanded the secession of the south-west states from Nigeria. Commenting on the declaration on Monday, Akeredolu had said  Ondo people have chosen  to stay in Nigeria, adding that advocates of Oduduwa Republic are politicians who lost out on power.
